I bought my first Bullworker in 1974 in the US when I was 28 years old. Had a little pouch and a few pounds overweight. Smoked and just couldn´t do any running. Anyway, I bought the Bullworker and after six weeks, my neighbor 21 years old and using standard weight, could not believe my changed body in such a short time. I used that Bullworker for about 30 years. Now, retired in Brazil, I would like to buy a new one at age 72. What makes me a bit hesitant is the high shipping cost to Sao Paulo.

I already have the original power pack bundle (steel bow (3 spring) and Bullworker (no extra springs), my old X5 (Canvass straps) and an old purple handled women’s bullworker, which fits in a suitcase or holdall for holiday maintenance training. I never really liked the plastic round cables and grips on the old power bundle, so I generally reverted to my old X5. (I have been using Bullworker since 1972 (I don’t have my original one).
As a former soldier, a bullworker of some description has been in my backpack during many a conflict (at first derided by my comrades until they tried it). So, mourning the lack of canvass straps, the new X5 Pro arrived. There were some issues over the delivery, but eventually it arrived 3 days before we went on a cruise.
I managed a couple of work outs before we departed and decided to take the X5 on the cruise as I was not totally convinced of it. The ship had a decent gym and there I was every morning 0800 hrs going through my own head to toe daily routine ( I usually train 5 days and maintenance for 2). During the cruise, I trained for 8 straight days with the new X5 and put it through it’s paces, I had to adapt parts of my routine and now I love it. Very easy to change springs, smooth action, great straps and silent. Good tip here; try some of the Bicep and tricep exercises kneeling, in-fact doing many of the upper body exercises kneeling is quite and eye opener.
At the start of this week (for some reason) I tried as many exercises of my routine as possible sitting on a bench, (last time I used a bench for a whole routine was John’s old 30 minute steel bow video exercises). Anyway, sitting on a bench (even inclined) certainly blasted the upper body and arm workouts. So if you have read thus far, (sorry if it’s to over indulgent), go and buy a new X5 Pro, with a bit of imagination it can exercise the whole body and it fits in a suitcase. Finally, to misquote and old English beer add, “It looks good, it works good and by golly, it does you good!” I am 69 years old and it works for me!

The X5 Pro is made very well. The size is perfect. I have had problems with my shoulder. I couldn’t do shoulder exercise with weights. The Bullworker is great to strengthen my shoulder without further injury. My shoulder feels 100% better.

I have been using the X5 Pro along with my original X5 for about 10 days now. Love the product. Similar to the X5, but a bit shorter. I like very much that it came with 5 different springs and I have selected the 70 lbs spring to start my routine. The construction is top rate, this should last a lifetime for sure. I like the compact design and the handle grips are simply great. If you don’t have one, get one. Hats off to the Hughes family for resurrecting the Bullworker.

I was blessed to be able to pick up the “Unicorn” or limited gold version of the X5 Pro 28.
In my opinion this made-in-USA X5 is the best yet of my already amazing assortment of BW training tools.
From the anodized aluminum tubes with smooth action to the pulley straps for greater functionality to the ergo rubber grips that provide amazing grip/traction, this unit is the pinnacle of BW design. The 28” length is the Goldilocks of the BW lineup, IMO.
I have zero regrets purchasing the more expensive limited version and will likely purchase the black X5 Pro as well.
The fitness, strength, and discipline I have earned using BW gear is priceless.

I just got it today and have not used it extensively but it is designed nicely and well constructed for a myriad of uses.I think that I will like using it and changing resistance levels on it.The size makes it amenable to a lot of uses.Wish it had come with the circular pad as in other bullworkers.
